Grendel Sound is a small shop formed in 2007 in Canton, OH. It is owned and operated by Alex Knappenberger with help from part time associates.
The initial goal was to build a better isolation cabinet for musicians who would want to record their guitar without sacrificing tonal quality. These musicians, whom have often spent thousands of dollars on their existing equipment, would have to resort to sub-par methods for tracking guitar at home or in noise level restricted environments. The Dead Room has thus far proved to be a true performer and solution for these common issues. Churches have welcomed the Dead Room isolation boxes onto their stages to keep the stage volume to a minimum during performances. This is vital to ensure a clean monitor mix for all of the musicians on stage. Guitar players are able to get the tone that they need while attenuating the volume to a reasonable level.
